Greenwood Chair Making

While this class is designed to be a good introduction to chair making, you'll find all sorts of solid woodworking tips that are sure to prove helpful in any woodworking project.  The emphasis on mastering hand tools is particularly useful. Working with the traditional combination of maple and hickory, you will learn how to steam bend, hand chop mortices, fine tune a drawknife, and weave a hickory bark seat.  Lots of fine point on scraper and plane sharpening are also covered.  Each student will actually build a complete ladderback chair.  This is not only a a very educational class, but a lot of fun as well.  I hope you'll join us!
